We have been serving in Poland for 14 years. For much of that time, we have been working with other missions organizations under the auspices of the Alliance for Saturation Church Planting (ASCP). Along with our ministry partners, we have been able to play a significant role in seeing church planting become an essential ministry element in the majority of the Polish Evangelical denominations. We were also instrumental in helping the Evangelical church to develop cooperative structures for church planting efforts - including having a key role in bringing denominational leaders together toward that goal. Our early research provided the first overview of the spiritual state of Poland. Along with our ministry partners, we have provided church planting training and materials. These experiences have given us a unique perspective on the spiritual state of Poland.
During our time in Poland, our children have grown from going to pre-school to leaving home for college. This transition in their lives has also given us the opportunity to seek new ministry possibilities. The Lord has opened the door for us to work with at-risk Polish youth, helping them to find success in school and life. We believe that the message of hope that Jesus brings fits perfectly with the message that God has specially created and gifted everyone for His unique purposes. As we serve this community, we will be looking for those whom God is calling and will be starting Bible studies, leading to new churches. We will be engaging new communities and establishing new communities of faith.
Fun fact: Although Karen and Paul both lived in Pakistan at the age of 5, they wouldn't meet for another 20 years – in Germany.
