Kristen and Thanos, located in Greece, serve at these tables—tables that transcend boundaries, bring people together, and change lives. Recently, their journey spanned two countries and three cities. Every step was brimming with growth, gratitude, and connection. They carried with them a message of hope, healing, and community.
They found themselves seated at various tables over the months:
- A Table of Growth – where seeds of faith were planted through prayer circles and community gatherings. Every conversation, every shared meal carried the potential to spark transformation.
- A Table of Healing – where those in pain found comfort and restoration through counseling sessions and moments of deep connection. It’s here that broken spirits began to mend, and the healing work of grace unfolded.
- A Table of Celebration – where traditions came alive, particularly during Greek Easter. They witnessed the deeply moving Good Friday procession in Larisa, a moment when the streets lit up with candlelight as locals followed flower-adorned coffins, honoring Christ’s ultimate sacrifice. In that sacred moment, it was clear: the values that unite us as believers transcend borders.
- A Table of Plenty – where children from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom face hunger daily, received more than just food—they were filled with love and care. On the final day of summer camp, Thanos cooked a traditional Moussaka, ensuring that these children, who might only eat once a day, enjoyed a nourishing meal.
“When we witnessed the Good Friday procession in Larisa, we were reminded of Jesus’ sacrifice and the shared values of love and grace that He embodies,” described Kristen. “We carry those values with us into every community we serve, knowing that we are not alone—our partners make these experiences possible, empowering us to navigate life’s twists and turns with grace and resilience.”
