Job Description
Responsible for the development and implementation of pastoral services and resources for missionary families and their children (aka MKs – Missionary Kids, TCKs – Third Culture Kids). Help carry out the global responsibilities of People Care and Spiritual Formation in your areas of responsibility keeping in view that we are here to help carry out the mission God has entrusted to Communitas. Work with the PCF Team to realize Communitas values and mutual expectations so that we have healthy individuals and teams. Come alongside Communitas personnel on an individual basis by providing the space for coaching, mentoring, care, or processing.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check-in monthly and as needed with the Co-Director of PCF
- Establish and maintain relationships with interested parents and MKs
- Perform field visits to Staff families and MKs in a developmental and care capacity when possible or coordinate with a vetted and trusted 3rd Party organization to aid in this endeavor.
- Be a “safe person” for processing personal, family-related, or other issues impacting home life (also recognizing when to refer people to professional care).
- Provide opportunities for learning regarding Third Culture Kids within Communitas.
- Work with the PCF Team in the development of systems and policies that actively promote holistic well-being amongst our staff, focusing mainly on Missionary Families and MKs.
- Attend at least one regional Connect and/or Leadership Summit each year.

Qualifications
- Strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Communitas International, and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. Meets elder qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 (gender inclusive)
- Theologically sound and in full agreement with Communitas’ Statement of Faith and positional papers
- Proven leadership, team leadership and development, and management ability in a mission-setting
- Forward-thinking and able to develop and execute plans with concrete targets and goals
- Specific training and exposure to member care philosophy, strategies, and best practices currently in place within the mission community are preferred
- Strong commitment to principles of lifelong development
- Strong commitment to healthy marriage and families, familiar with the specific needs of Third Culture parenting/ children
- Good to excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good to excellent computer skills and experience, preferably with experience using Microsoft Office applications, online databases, Zoom, and Google Workspace
- Able to work independently and stay on track with agreed deadlines and goals
- Mature in character, has respect and trust of Communitas leadership
- Handles confidential information appropriately and wisely
- Able to establish trust and rapport with missionaries, to be a ‘safe counsel’
- Understand Communitas organizational culture
- A background check is required
Funding
This position is support-funded. The MK/TCK Family Pastor must be prepared to develop ministry partner support for this role. A support plan for this position will be established in consultation with HR.
