Bryan grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until high school that his faith became real. After studying finance at the University of Colorado, Bryan entered into ministry, serving in a college ministry as well as overseeing the finances at a local church. Through leading numerous short-term trips with these two ministries, God placed within him a heart for what God was doing all over the world.

Rachel grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she encountered the deep love of the Father and grew to love Him in return. After high school, she moved down to Colorado Springs for college. She joined Young Life staff while finishing up her undergrad, where she ministered to junior high and high school kids for the next nine years and developed a growing heart for coming alongside anyone who longs for a deeper, more expansive life in Christ.

While attending Fuller Seminary, Bryan and Rachel met at a small Christmas gathering for students. After building a friendship and enjoying classes together they got married in the fall of 2014. Both Bryan and Rachel graduated in 2015 and shortly after moved to Northern California where Bryan served as the spiritual formation and community pastor at a local church. After receiving training in spiritual direction, together they launched CURATE Ministries to care for pastors and missionaries and help people grow in their walks with Christ. In November 2020, they moved back to Colorado Springs as they prepared to welcome their first child into the world. Bryan also began his Doctorate Program at Denver Seminary, focusing on spiritual formation.

They both joined Communitas staff in June 2021. Bryan serves as the Co-director of Staff Care and Development and Rachel oversees Human Resources. They are both passionate about seeing people grow in the fullness of Christ and come alive at the chance to see the Holy Spirit at work.
