Gloria Del Cid

Gloria was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and was raised in a non-Christian home by a single mother. When she was 11 years old, she moved to California, where she learned to speak English and memorized Bible verses in Awana. When she was 13 years old she heard a missionary speak for the first time. At the end of the presentation the missionary asked if anyone felt the call to missions, and Gloria raised her hand. But it wasn’t until 1999 when she went to Nicaragua as an interpreter for a short term mission team that she began to seriously consider answering the call to missions. Gloria has been a missionary in Honduras for the past 21 years. She combines her passion for education and second chances by providing tools, resources and scholarships to children and parents from Plaza Los Dolores. In her community she helps parents with special needs children with testing, information and emotional support. She also travels all over Honduras providing schools with Bibles and devotionals, so the teachers can read the Word of God to their students.
