Jack LoMonaco

Jack is a native Californian whose life journey has led him to live in the Netherlands for the past 30 plus years. In 1985 he left his secure government job with the US Dept. of Treasury to do a 6-month Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). This ‘short-term’ missions experience was so life-changing that he ended up serving all over the world with YWAM for 16 incredible years….the last 10 of which were with his beautiful Dutch bride Janette. In 2000 he was invited to join a Communitas church-planting team in the city of “peace and justice” – The Hague. His responsibilites varied through the years, but his passion was to use his pastoral and administrative gifts to ‘equip the saints’ to be an authentic expression of the love and grace of Jesus in a broken world. During his 17 years at Crossroads International Church of The Hague, he also had the privilege of helping to birth the International Justice Mission’s Dutch office and to serve on their board for 5 years.

In 2018 Jack stepped down from his pastoral role at Crossroads The Hague to take his first-ever sabbatical. This time enabled him to rest, reflect, and to gain fresh passion and vision for a new season of life and ministry. During this time he was also able to complete a 2-year training to become a certified spiritual director — a ministry which Jack feels is like a ‘coming home’ — a convergence of his giftings, talents, and passions. This convergence has led Jack to not only start his own spiritual direction practice, but to serve part-time as the Communitas staff care and development facilitator for the European Benelux region. His heart is help model and facilitate spiritual health and vitality to the current and upcoming generation of missionaries and leaders in the local Body of Christ…as well as to the spiritual communities and missional initiatives in which they serve.
