Oli and Constance Smith

Constance and Oli are Church planters with twenty years of experience each and have been involved in 8 church planting situations combined in both the U.S and U.K. They have been married since 2011 and have one amazing son. They have been involved in pioneer church planting in post-Christian contexts in London for a long time and currently lead a creative church planting work in East London, called 3 Cups Church. As a community they seek to help people know the love of Jesus, work for reconciliation in a neighbourhood damaged by gentrification, and connect art and the gospel together. Oli does a lot of teaching and street theology as well as cooking and hospitality. Constance is an artist and philosopher. When their son falls asleep they drink dark beer, play video games together and treat their small black and white cat like the princess she is.

Personal Biography

I am originally from Bedfordshire in the UK but have lived in London for two decades as a pioneer church planter, evangelist, teacher, and mentor. I studied theology and mission with Durham University, and Religion at Kings College London where I graduated with distinction. I am a pop-culture junky mixed with a history freak. Laughing with my wife and son is my favourite thing on Earth.

Personal Biography

I’m a painter and philosopher–and urban gardener and child-wrangler and amateur handyman–from the mountains of North Carolina. I like discussing Continental philosophy over a good pint, or playing video games, or offering pastoral care over coffee. I’m an introvert that spends most of my time with people (because I like them), and I always have paint or dirt under my fingernails.
