Bob and Elizabeth moved to Dublin in 2012 with their four daughters Hannah, Erin, Brenna, & Méabh, who at that time were 18, 16, 13 and 1. The Wilsons met while in college at SUNY Fredonia where Elizabeth was studying music and Bob majored in business.
During the next 10 years, the Wilsons began university ministries at the University at Albany and Cornell University, where Bob was a University Chaplain. In 1999 they, along with a team of Cornell students, planted the Vineyard Church of Ithaca. Bob served as lead pastor of the Vineyard for the next 13 years and Elizabeth filled numerous leadership roles including Worship Pastor.
In the summer of 2010, they were in Ireland as part of their sabbatical. Although planting another church was not on their radar (Bob may have said something about never wanting to do that again), they began to sense God calling them to move to Ireland and start new churches.
After taking a year to process this call with their children, and leaders at their church in Ithaca, in the summer of 2011 they decided that this was the next step for them, and 12 months later they moved to Clontarf in Dublin’s Northside.
Currently, the Wilsons are partnering with a couple other families to church plant and start missional communities in Dublin. Bob also serves as Director of Marketing for Communitas.
