Troy Cady

Troy began his ministry journey with Communitas when it was still called Christian Associates (CA). He and his wife Heather joined CA in 1996 and spent 12 years church planting in various places around Europe, but chiefly in Spain. They returned to the United States in 2010 and have lived in Chicago ever since. In 2013, Troy founded a ministry called PlayFull, whose mission is “to help people and organizations play from the inside out.” PlayFull offers workshops, courses, retreats, resources, coaching, and spiritual direction in hopes of helping individuals and groups tap into the spirit of play and playfulness to cultivate personal, relational, and organizational vitality. He resigned from CA in 2014 to devote more time to PlayFull’s mission but began to affiliate with Communitas once again in 2023 because of a faith network he began to develop called PlayWell Communities. PlayWell is a network of small missional communities that are centered upon five core practices: feasting, wondering, listening, sharing, and renewing.
