A fire in my heart was lit 20 years ago when I lead a summer mission team to work with Crossroads Amsterdam: a mature, Communitas church plant. I returned the following summer to complete my studies interning with the Crossroads youth and counseling teams. Although short term missions had taken me from Asia to Africa to American summer camps leading worship, my time in Amsterdam was formational to my theology of mission and church. Between then and now, I have learned to bloom where I’m planted as a community based & hospice social worker, congregational worship leader, in leading young adult and family discipleship groups, and even in a full-time career homeschooling my children. However, the deep desire to serve with Communitas, in Europe, has never been snuffed out.
Caleb & I met at Oral Roberts University, and have been married for 13 years and have 2 children. Cohen is 11 years old and is as clever as he is friendly. Clover is 8 years old going on 30 with the insight of a 70 year old sage. They are precious to us! Caleb & I are ordained through our home church who sent us off as missionaries 10 years ago to serve as Worship Pastors in Florida. Now, having transitioned out of full-time traditional ministry, and after a lengthy conversation with Michael Katzenberger, I have, with great excitement, agreed to join the Eastern & Central Europe Advancement Team.
We believe, with great conviction, in the mission and values of Communitas. Making disciples, equipping and establishing churches… for the transformation of the world. This is the great commission given to the church by Jesus. As Ministry Coordinator with the Eastern & Central Advancement Team I will be coaching and supporting leaders in indigenous projects and plants, especially women in leadership.
Fun fact: If you took me out for a drink, I’d order a neat, Reposado Tequila, with a twist of lime.
